Dr. Senjam Sunil Singh is an Associate Professor (Stage IV), in the Department of Biochemistry, Manipur University, India. He received his PhD from the same University. After his nine years of teaching in the College, he joins the University since 2007. He got the DBT Oversea Associateship (2014) and under the same program he did his post-doctoral research training at one of the renowned research laboratory under Prof. Tzi Bun Ng, (Chinese University of Hong Kong). He is a regular contributor of research articles in his area and as reviewer for some peer research journals. At present he is working on protein biochemistry, especially purification and biochemical characterization of plant lectins. His area of research interest includes Lectin Biochemistry, Enzyme Biotechnology and Immunology. His key skill lies in imparting knowledge to students and organizing academic related student’s activities.

Education:
He pursued his academic journey in biochemistry, specializing in molecular immunology for his M.Sc degree at North Eastern Hills University, Shillong, which he completed in 1997. Continuing his academic pursuits, he furthered his studies at Manipur University, Imphal, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2012, focusing on lectin biochemistry. Throughout his academic career, he has shown dedication and passion for his field, delving deep into the intricacies of molecular biology and immunology. His research and studies have contributed to the advancement of biochemistry, particularly in understanding the role of lectins in biological systems. With a strong foundation in biochemistry and specialized knowledge in molecular immunology, he continues to make significant contributions to the scientific community through his research and academic endeavors.
Experience:
He has actively participated in various workshops and conferences, showcasing his expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology. Notable among these is his presentation on “Purification and Characterization of a Lectin from Quercus ilex L.” at the National Workshop on Natural Product Chemistry organized by the Department of Chemistry, Manipur University, in March 2011. Additionally, he attended the “Two Days National Workshop on Introduction to Genomic Science” in November 2010 and a “2 Days short term training programme on Application of Bioinformatics in Biology Teaching and Research” in March 2009, both organized by Bioinformatics infrastructure facility centers. His academic contributions include supervising dissertations such as “Partial Purification of Lectin from Lentinus connatus Berk” submitted to the University of Madras for the MSc degree in Biochemistry in April 2009. Furthermore, he presented research findings like “Partial Purification of D-(+)-Glucosamine specific Lectin from seeds of Quercus ilex L.” at the 77th Annual Meeting of the Society of Biological Chemists (India) in December 2008. Through these engagements, he has demonstrated his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and contributing to the field of biochemistry.
