József Popp is Professor at John Neumann University, Hungary. He is Professor at WSB University, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland and University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He is also an active member and chairman of several academic and professional organisations. Professor József Popp obtained his PhD of economics at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and his Dr. Sc. oec. degree at the Humbold University, Berlin, Germany. He is a corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His research interests include global food and energy security analysis, competitiveness of the food economy, rural development, supply chain management, renewable energy, bioeconomy and circular economy. Among the honors he has received are: Doctorem Honoris Causa Pannon University, Hungary, 2010 and “Honoris Causa Professorship”, Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research, 2010. Award of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Recognition of Research Contributions, 2011. He has a long list of publications and has advised dozens of PhD students and postdoctors holding research and teaching positions in Hungary and abroad. Stanford University has recently released a list that represents the top 2 per cent of the most-cited scientists of the world in various disciplines including the name of József Popp as well.

Education:

He has an extensive academic background spanning several prestigious institutions and degrees. In 1979, he earned a Master of Science in agricultural economics from the University of Agricultural Sciences in Keszthely, Hungary, followed by a Master of Science in economics from Karl Marx University of Economic Sciences in Budapest in 1984. Continuing his academic journey, he obtained a Doctor of Science in agricultural economics from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, in 1988, as well as a Ph.D. in Economics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in the same year. In 1982, he completed his studies in agricultural sciences at the Agricultural University of Gödöllő, Hungary. His academic achievements culminated with a Habilitation from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, in 2008. Additionally, he was honored as a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2008 and became a Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Science in 2019. Amir Noori is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Ottawa, Canada. He received his M.Sc. in Water Resource Engineering and Management. His research interests are directed at water resources planning, Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods, Climate Change, and RS and GIS. Results obtained from his research have been published in multiple papers in international journals.

Education:

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Water Resources Engineering at the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. His research focuses on the rehabilitation planning of municipal water distribution networks under the impacts of climate change, with Prof. Hossein Bonakdari as his supervisor. Prior to this, he obtained his M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering and Management from Razi University in Kermanshah, Iran, where he achieved a GPA of 16.81 out of 20. His master’s thesis, supervised by Prof. Hossein Bonakdari, involved the development of an optimal water supply plan using integrated fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making methods. He also holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering-Water from the Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch, Tehran, Iran, with a GPA of 15.52 out of 20. Throughout his academic journey, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to water resources management and engineering research.
