Mr Kuntal Ghosh CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI), India

He currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow (INSPIRE DST Fellow) at the Energy Materials and Devices Division of CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, where he focuses on developing All Solid-State Lithium Batteries using Novel Electrolytes under the guidance of Dr. Mir Wasim Raja. Previously, he conducted research on raindrop-size distribution during the Southwest Monsoon at Bose Institute in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, during a summer training program supervised by Dr. Sanat Kumar Das. These experiences have equipped him with valuable skills and expertise in the fields of materials science and environmental science.

Education:

He is currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow (INSPIRE DST Fellow) at the Energy Materials and Devices Division (formerly FCBD) of CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute since October 2022. Under the guidance of Dr. Mir Wasim Raja, he is dedicated to the development of All Solid-State Lithium Batteries using Novel Electrolytes. Prior to this role, he held the position of Junior Research Fellow (INSPIRE DST Fellow) at the same division from October 2020 to October 2022, also under the supervision of Dr. M.W. Raja. Concurrently, he is pursuing his PhD at Jadavpur University since March 2022, focusing on the same topic of developing All Solid-State Lithium Batteries using Novel Electrolytes. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics with a specialization in Condensed Matter Physics from Banaras Hindu University and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics Hons. from Mohsin College. His academic journey began with Higher Secondary (H.S.) and Secondary (Madhyamik) education in Science from Puinan High School and Gossain Mali Para High School, respectively, both in West Bengal, India. His academic achievements and research endeavors reflect his dedication and passion for advancing the field of energy materials and devices.

Experience:

For his dissertation project, he collaborated with Dr. R. S. Tiwari, a Professor in the Department of Physics at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The project centered around the hydrothermal synthesis of tungsten oxide nanostructures, emphasizing experimental techniques to fabricate and characterize these materials. This endeavor allowed him to delve into the realm of nanotechnology, exploring novel methods for the production of nanostructured materials with potential applications in various fields. Through these experiences, he honed his research skills, gained practical knowledge, and contributed to advancements in the respective domains under the guidance of esteemed mentors.

He holds a B.Sc. degree in Industrial and Production Engineering, earned from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh, from 2009 to 2014. Experience:

He has been serving as a Plant Operation Engineer at Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited since September 2018, contributing to the efficient operation of the plant. His responsibilities include procuring and developing spare parts, identifying machinery suppliers, and aligning product development with market demand. He is tasked with preparing and implementing production plans to achieve target outputs while adhering to yearly budget constraints and ensuring optimal resource utilization. Through careful work analysis considering human ergonomics, he enhances operational efficiency and capacity implementation. Additionally, he plays a key role in implementing and maintaining methodologies such as KAIZEN, 5’s, Lean, and six sigma within the plant, ensuring continuous improvement and sustainability. Notably, he has overseen the sourcing, installation, and commissioning of a 400 BPM filler line with compressor, dryer, and injection molding machine. Furthermore, he handles mechanical maintenance for various machinery, including injection molding, blowing, filler line machines, and conveyor lines for packaging and cooling towers. Through his expertise and leadership, he contributes to the smooth functioning and continuous improvement of plant operations.
