With a Ph.D. obtained in 2003 from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, I achieved a perfect CGPA of 4.0/4.0 in coursework. Currently serving as Professor and Chair in the Department of Economics at IUBAT since April 2022, I bring a wealth of experience. Previously, from 2018 to 2021, I held the position of Chief Economist at ICIMOD in Kathmandu, Nepal. My career reflects a dedication to regional and rural development and a commitment to academic and leadership roles.

Having earned his Ph.D. in 2003 from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand with a perfect CGPA of 4.0/4.0 in coursework, he has showcased an exceptional academic journey. This trajectory includes an M.Sc. in 1999, also from the Asian Institute of Technology, achieving a CGPA of 3.9/4.0 and earning an Excellent grade for his thesis in Regional and Rural Development. Furthermore, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma on Trade Policy from GATT, Geneva, Switzerland, focusing on International Trade Policies. His academic achievements extend back to his M.Sc. in Economics from Jahangirnagar University in 1983 and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics in 1981, with a major in Economics and minors in Political Science and Geography, both from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. This rich educational background underscores his expertise in regional and rural development, international trade policies, and economics.
