He completed his BSc in Biology from the University of Lucknow, India, in 1999, followed by an MSc in Biochemistry from the same university, where he graduated as a Gold medalist in 2000. Continuing his academic journey, he pursued his PhD as a student at the Department of Molecular & Structural Biology at the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India, from 2001 to 2005. Afterward, he embarked on a Post-Doc position at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA, working with Prof. Axel Nohturfft from 2005 to 2006.

Experience:

He began his academic journey as a PhD student at the Department of Molecular & Structural Biology, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India, from 2001 to 2005. Following this, he pursued Post-Doctoral research at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA, under the guidance of Prof. Axel Nohturfft, from 2005 to 2006. Continuing his research pursuits, he undertook another Post-Doc position at the Molecular Oncology Research Institute, Tufts Medical Centre, Tufts University, Boston, MA, USA, working with Prof. Athan Kuliopulos from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati, Guwahati, Assam, India, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, where he served until 2014 when he was promoted to Associate Professor. In June 2018, he further advanced his academic career by assuming the role of Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati, Guwahati, Assam, India.

Honor and Awards:

He was honored with the Prof P. S. Krishnan Gold Medal from the University of Lucknow, India, in 2000, followed by a Junior Research Fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India, in 2001. In 2002, he successfully cleared the Graduate Aptitude Talent Examination. Continuing his academic journey, he received a Senior Research Fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India, in 2003, along with the Best Publication Award from the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India, in the same year. His achievements were further recognized with the Young Scientist Award from the Society of Biological Chemistry, India, in 2005, and subsequent honors including the Young Scientist Award from the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, in 2010, and the Young Scientist Award from the National Academy of Sciences-India (NASI) in 2011.
